About Our Founder

Like many of you Janice grew up in the trenches with a single mom, a father addicted to alcohol and surrounded by scarcity. Her first program as a teen told her she had an 85% chance of becoming an addict. Addiction was a disease and many children of addicts became one…or at least that is what they said. Janice rejected this life sentence and spent the next 30 years attempting to get to the core root of emotional pain. How does it show up in our lives? How does it impact our relationships, work, parenting and choices? Janice and the team at AH-HA Healing are honoured to bring you this life changing theory and process so you too can see your life differently and as Janice would say: you were born for such a time as this…are you ready to change your life?

Janice Taylor is renowned for her captivating presentations and profound insights into emotional well-being. Janice Taylor

Tech pioneer, social tech entrepreneur,  inspirational speaker, author, online
safety advocate, healing mentor, investor, mother and advisor.

For the past 15 years in the tech industry, Janice was an early pioneer in early technologies to protect children online, to build software that supported social and emotional learning. At the heart of most of Janice’s experiences is the desire for financial inclusion to be the norm for women and diverse communities. As a 3X founder, Janice is bringing her expertise in human behavior, building tech inclusive products to Web3 leading EQ, a marketplace for creators to access capital fairly, transparently and equitably.  EQ was an early financial solution to solve artists rights and to level the music industry.

Throughout her startup career she launched the first children’s digital products for Professional Sports leagues such as the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLS, WNBA  that focused on values rather than gaming. She was part of the early founders that recognized the negative impacts of social media on the psychological development of youth. Janice received several awards for early pioneering technology to protect children online including fighting for digital rights legislation in both Canada and the US.  She has a Bachelor of Psychology, Honors Thesis Option and is currently enrolled at Harvard University to complete the thesis on her groundbreaking 30 year research project on healing early emotional pain. Janice spent many years studying the impacts of addiction on the human spirit. Early in Janice’s life she spent time with the most vulnerable populations, learning about their journey with addiction. From her teen years into adulthood, Janice’s specialty is uncovering the root cause of their emotional pain to create an innovative healing solution called Ahava (AH-HA Healing). Ahava is now licensed into Fintech, maternal health and wellness applications. From these iterations, Janice launched the first digital healing center for the AH-HA Healing Approach, created an accreditation program for other therapists and coaches. Her first physical location in Kelowna, BC is leading the way in multidisciplinary healing.

Most recently, Janice has been appointed by the Prime Minister of Canada as an Honorary Captain of the Royal Canadian Navy to bridge the gap between communities and the Canadian Armed Forces. As a digital safety advocate and pioneer in new technologies, Janice has partnered with the Navy to bring digital awareness to the work of the Navy around cybersecurity and cyberterrorism. This appointment is a 3 year term which will allow Janice to effectively represent Canada and Her Royal Majesty.

Janice has brought this message of emotional and financial wellness to such esteemed conferences as TEDx, Marianne Williamson Events, Tech TO, London Digital Wellness Festival, among others. She was named one of twelve extraordinary Women in Tech by the Consulate General of Canada, chosen as one of Oprah’s Ultimate Viewers, and selected as a finalist for the 2016 Woman of Worth Awards. Additionally, in 2018, Mazu was recognized as one of the five Most Innovative Companies in British Columbia, Canada.

Janice also founded a mentorship program called The Dream Project for women in recovery at the Karis Centre for Women in Recovery to inspire and guide women healing from addictions to achieve their dreams. The Dream Project has now developed into a book by the women to tell their stories of recovery and how Ahava changed their lives. Janice’s first book Wisdom. Soul. Startup featured the beginning foundation of AH-HA Healing and is now selling across Canada and the US.  The follow up book will be released in 2024 that will provide the step by step guide to this revolutionary healing process.

Along with her work in mental health and healing, Janice has spearheaded several companies in the tech industry with raising investment rounds, partnering with some of the top firms to increase fundraising opportunities for women and BIPOC founders. Those diverse companies have gone on to raise over a billion dollars of funding. Her passion is disrupting the venture capital world so critical life changing problems are solved by those who are currently not funded by the venture world. During Covid, Janice assisted 21 different companies on their fundraising journey that allowed diverse founders to receive the necessary capital for underfunded startup founders. To date, Janice has raised over $15 million dollars for her own startups. She has since left the tech industry after an illustrious career across several countries, industries and navigating Silicon Valley. She is now dedicated to solving early emotional pain with her innovative solutions.

Janice Book: Wisdom. Soul. Startup

The choices presented to us usually represent two ways: the way of the ego or the way of the soul. Often, they represent a crossroads in our lives. This is where we get to prove that we have grown or stayed the same.

Like many of you, my story carries pain, sorrow, loss, and gain. At one critical point, when I was at a crossroads in both my personal life and in the progression of my tech start-up, this book came to life. One cool, Canadian December day, I asked a few of my special friends if I could write to them each morning. I was attempting to understand my life better, and I felt writing would bring clarity. They agreed. The group grew to about twenty women, and I faithfully wrote to them every morning for six months. As the winter thawed and spring came into bloom, this little book came to life. I realized that my life, my tech start-up and my deep love for my soul sisters converged into one theme: love of self. Through the mirror they provided their own stories of pain and regret and together we birthed a new way of relating to each other and, most importantly, the recipe of this book was formed.
